Andrea is the Team Dietitian at Change Creates Change Eating Disorder Care, located in Wolfville and serving all of Nova Scotia. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at Acadia University and dietetic internship with Nova Scotia Health Authority. Soon after graduating, she moved to Maine where she worked in various dietetic roles, including retail, oncology, and private practice for over eight years. Having relocated her family back to Nova Scotia in 2021, she is excited to share her experience and passion for helping individuals improve their relationship to food and body, health, and overall well-being. She provides nutrition counseling with empathy and understanding, aiming to foster autonomy and self-compassion for each of her clients and their families.

Cathy has been a dietitian for 27 years working in a variety of roles including clinical, private practice, education and management. She obtained her degree from St. FX and completed a graduate internship at the Brantford General Hospital. Cathy started working at the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home 20 years ago doing the clinical consulting 4 hrs/wk. The role evolved over the years and she now manages Support Services as well. She has worked and volunteered with NSDA for many years in a variety of roles, including Registrar and on the Continuing Competence Committee. Cathy has chaired the NS Food & Environmental Service Workers Course Advisory Committee and is a Zone 1 rep on the NS Dietitians’ Continuing Care Action Group. Cathy lives in the beautiful Annapolis Valley with her husband, two boys, a
dog and a cat. Whether its camping, hiking, swimming, soccer, science experiments in the kitchen or enjoying a movie together, spending time with her family is a favourite thing to do.

Clarissa's passion for nutrition started when she saw the difference it made with managing her own health conditions. Since studying dietetics at Mount Saint Vincent University, and completing her internship at The Hospital for Sick Children, Clarissa has been working in many settings in the Annapolis Valley including long-term care, private practice, and Nova Scotia Health. Clarissa has an inclusive approach to nutrition and believes that a person's relationship with food is as, if not more, important than the food itself.


Clarissa has a particular interest in gut health and digestive conditions, reproductive diseases such as endometriosis and PCOS, as well as fertility and pregnancy.

Deidre Burns completed Biology and Nutrition degrees at Acadia University in 1999 and completed her internship at the QEII in 2001.  After that she worked for several years in community and long term care prior to finding her “forever” job on the Stroke Team at Valley Regional Hospital in Kentville, NS, where she has been since 2008.  

 

Deidre is currently Co-chair of Dietitians of Canada’s Dysphagia Assessment and Treatment Network, where she works to support the development of Dysphagia competence in Canadian dietitians.  She was author of DC’s “Swallow Screen and Assessment” online course, and a primary reviewer for the “Professional Practice in Dysphagia Management” and “Nutrition Care Process for Dysphagia” on-line courses.  She was also a primary reviewer for the Role paper “Defining the Role of the Dietitian in Dysphagia Assessment and Management” (March 2015) and competencies document “Competencies for Dysphagia Assessment and Management in Dietetic Practice” (Jan 2019).   

 

Deidre is also a PEN supporter, currently re-writing PEN’s Evidence Background document for Dysphagia. Dysphagia is truly Deidre’s passion and she is always happy to share her knowledge and expertise.

Erika works as the Outpatient Dietitian at Western Kings Memorial Health Centre in Berwick where she helps counsel and support patients in chronic disease management, prevention, and over all health optimization with all ages. In this role she also works with the community, running health programs. As well, she is the dietitian at the Valley Regional Hospital Hip and Knee Clinic where she counsels patients individually and facilitates the PreHab program which is a pre-surgical education and exercise program.

Howard is a Registered Dietitian, Chef, and Certified Foodservice Manager who co-owns, with his wife Wendy Rodda, Valley Flaxflour Ltd. located in Middleton, NS. As corporate General Manager, Howard oversees the general functioning of the business, lead recipe and product development activities, and manage marketing and sales.
 

For over 20 years Howard has been supporting the use of flax as a component of Valley Flaxflour Ltd's proprietary natural bowel care program “as easy as eating” in long term care facilities, health clinics and hospitals throughout Atlantic Canada and Ontario. In more recent years, Valley Flaxflour Ltd's freshly milled ingredients and mixes have expanded to include gluten free, non-GMO, Canadian flax, oats, buckwheat and corn.  Products are now sold in retail under the Valley Kitchen brand at local markets, Sobey’s stores throughout the Atlantic Provinces, and mail-order across Canada.

Sarah has had the pleasure of working in various settings as a Registered Dietitian for the past 20 years. She acknowledges we all have different experiences with food and knowledge and her role is to help clients understand the role of better nutrition, help them reach their goals and encourage joyful eating. As a Diabetes educator, Sarah firmly believes that nutrition is the cornerstone of therapy to prevent this disease and also live well with Diabetes. Sarah also enjoys holding workshops in the community to gather groups together to learn, inspire and enjoy food!
