Ruth Harvie, PhD, PDt(c)

Ruth trained and worked for over ten as a dietitian in her native New Zealand before commencing her PhD. She predominantly worked as an inpatient dietitian covering surgical and respiratory wards.

She spent 2 ¼ years in London, Ontario when doing her PhD collecting data based at the Canadian center for the human microbiome and probiotics. She finished her PhD: dietary intake, irritable bowel syndrome and the microbiota in 2018. In November 2019 she joined the human nutrition department at St Francis Xavier University. She currently teaches and research in the areas of clinical dietetics and foodservice management.

Her research program focuses on developing our understanding of the relationship between dietary intake, gastrointestinal symptoms, and features of the gut microbiome; and dysphagia and malnutrition.

Victoria Hanebury Fraser, RD

Victoria is currently a lecturer in the Department of Commerce at Mt Allison University. She spent 27 years as an administrative dietitian in the Canadian Armed Forces and was the Director of Food Services for the CAF from 2015 to 2018. In her military career, she was the Force Food Services Officer for two years in the Multinational Force and Observers peacekeeping mission in El Gorah Egypt, the Senior Food Services Officer for the Canadian Army, and  provided administrative dietetic leadership in many other bases and wings in Canada. 


Her future plans in semi-retirement are to become trained in equine facilitated wellness and she is in the process of opening a wellness facility in beautiful Pictou, which will incorporate total mind and body wellness through clients working with her two older horses.

Originally from Newfoundland, Brianna completed her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics in 2017 through the 2+2 Memorial University and Acadia University program. She then completed her dietetic internship with Eastern Health in St. John's, NL in 2018.

Brianna is a Registered Dietitian with Atlantic Superstore, providing services to the New Glasgow, Antigonish, and Port Hawkesbury locations. As a firm believer that all foods fit, Brianna's goal is to help people achieve their nutrition and wellness goals in a healthy and sustainable way, while fostering a positive relationship with food and eating.

Brianna offers a variety of in-person and virtual services, including individual consultations, group nutrition workshops and webinars, corporate wellness workshops, and other community services.

Teresa obtained her Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Teresa has experience working as a community dietitian in a retail setting since 2016.

She is passionate about educating the science of nutrition to the community through group education, nutrition workshops, cooperate wellness presentations and through hands-on cooking classes. Teresa loves seeing people get excited about food!

Tracy Everitt is an assistant professor at St. Francis Xavier University. She completed her undergraduate degree in nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan and her internship at the Moncton Hospital in New Brunswick. She completed her masters in Adult Education at St. Francis Xavier University with a focus on diabetes education in a First Nations community. She completed her PhD in the department of Community Health and Epidemiology, College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan. Her research interests are in the areas of school food and sustainable food systems in schools.

Tracy has worked as a dietitian in many contexts. She has worked in rural and remote First Nations communities in Saskatchewan and has spent many years in the area of diabetes education and chronic disease management in Saskatchewan and Alberta. She has worked in Public Health and as a Nutrition Practice Coordinator at the University of Saskatchewan.

Cassie completed her BSc in Human Nutrition in 2017 and Dietetic Internship in 2019, both through St. Francis Xavier University. She has experience in community nutrition, sport nutrition, food service management, and clinical nutrition. 

Cassie currently works in Long-Term Care in Antigonish and loves working with the aging population.
