Lesley is a private practice dietitian in Halifax supporting the local community with digestive and women’s health concerns. She is also a certified yoga instructor providing both nutrition and yoga services through her business Embodhi Nutrition and Yoga (www.embodhi.ca)

Lesley believes that every body has the ability to heal and thrive. It is her mission to give you the tools and techniques to participate in your personal health journey. She works in partnership with her clients to uncover the root causes of health concerns and uses a combination of nutrition, yoga, mindfulness and behaviour change techniques to address concerns from a whole person perspective.

She completed her Bachelors degree with honours in Biochemistry at Dalhousie University and went on to receive her Masters Degree in Applied Human Nutrition and Masters Diploma in Dietetic Credentialing from McGill University in 2015. Lesley worked as a Research Dietitian and in other fields of scientific research for 8 years. She has completed further training in herbal remedies and functional nutrition for digestive health, which has led her to integrate scientific evidence with complementary and alternative therapies into her practice over the last 2 years. She is an avid learner who is constantly gathering new information to better support and guide clients to improved health, comfort, and joy in their bodies.

 

What is your most marked characteristic? 

I’ve been told that it’s my unique laugh! :)

 

What is your favourite way to unwind?

Depending on the type of unwinding I need, it’s either a nice aligning yoga practice in a candlelit room or it’s cozying up on a bed or couch with a cup of herbal tea, essential oils diffusing and soft music.

 

What is your favorite Nova Scotia food?

Lobster of course! And all seafood actually. I realized that I never truly appreciated the seafood we have here until I left the province for 6 years!.
