Catherine is interested in working with two groups of people:
1) transgender and gender diverse people exploring food, nutrition, and eating interests.
2) caregivers and others in circles of care about food, nutrition, eating, and feeding issues.

Cath is an award winning nutrition educator and uses arts-based and creative research methods in studying people and their relationships with and through food. In addition to training as a registered dietitian, Cath holds an MA (adult education, UBC), PhD (community rehabilitation and disability studies (UCalgary), and diplomas in Textile Arts and Document Film (Capilano U). Cath has worked as a clinical dietitian, public health nutritionist, clinical manager, researcher, and professor. Building on their interest in feeding someone who is sick and at the end of life, Cath is studying to become a Death Doula.

Cath offers nutrition counselling training to colleagues through 'Nutrition Counsellling, Unscripted' and "Queering Dietetics" seminars. Cath's book, "No Love Like It: Feeding Someone Who is Sick" (Friesen) will be released in fall 2024.

Cath's approach to nutrition counselling is person-centred and involves deep listening.
