Crunchy Roasted Chickpeas

Roasting the chickpeas will make them crunchy and give them more flavor. You can use as many or as little spices as you like and whatever spices you prefer. Try using cinnamon, brown sugar, and a dash of salt to make “sweet and salty” chickpeas. Roasted chickpeas make a great snack or main protein source at a meal.

Ingredients:

1 Can Chickpeas

1 Tbsp  extra virgin olive oil

1 Tbsp chili powder

1 Tbsp garlic powder

¼ tsp ground black pepper

Method:

1.   Preheat oven to broil and prepare a 9” x 13” baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick cooking spray

  • Drain  and rinse chickpeas and transfer into medium sized mixing bowl

  • Drizzle olive oil over chickpeas, add spices, and mix

  • Transfer onto prepared baking sheet and broil in oven for 15-20 minutes, or until crunchy and no longer soft in the middle, turning often

* Store in fridge or in freezer. The freezer is a great way to give them an added crunch!
