Eat, Read, Learn (and More)!

The links below do not necessarily reflect the ideas/beliefs of the DNNS. They are topics of interest to dietitians who work with the public and want to learn more.
DNNS has decided to change up the name of The Latest Buzz to “Eat, Read, Learn” – catchy title, isn’t it! I don’t know how we came up with it – we’re just creative like that!! Eat, Read, Learn will be a collection of recommended books, courses, recipe blogs, journal articles, webinars, and much more! If you have a blog, book or online course that you would like to share with your fellow network members, please send the link to me at edieshawewald64@gmail.com
Laugh and Enjoy! Love this commercial! Both of our sons live independently for a good portion of the year and I always imagine them grocery shopping with their roomies. Motivation for young men to eat real, whole foods and experiment with cooking may come from L’amour!
Learn - A healthy eating app called FROOGIE was developed by the Healthy Populations Institute of Dalhousie University. It aims to track and increase fruit and vegetable consumption of families with young children. Check it out! https://www.froogieapp.com/
Listen - This RD Real Talk podcast episode with guest Toronto Dietitian Abby Langer is informative, entertaining and contains some ‘language’! It is a review of fad diets of 2017 – listen, learn and laugh! https://player.fm/series/rd-real-talk-registered-dietitians-keeping-it-real/44-the-no-bs-2017-diet-review
Watch - Sheila Kelly, MS RD President of Skelly Skills offers on demand webinars (some free) and other continuing education services. I have watched a few webinars and have found them to be very interesting and progressive. http://www.skellyskills.com/CPE_Webinars_for_RDs_and_CDEs_s/29.htm
