EAT
Ah, fall in Nova Scotia, and time for the much-anticipated annual 2021 Devour Food Film Fest , with a theme of “Global Indigenous Cinema and Cuisine.” This hybrid event will take place both online and in person in Wolfville, Nova Scotia/Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people, from October 19-24.
READ and LEARN
Revealing the logic of the body's 2nd Brain. It may be surprising for many to learn, the enteric nervous system is remarkably independent: intestines could carry out many of their regular duties even if they somehow became disconnected from the central nervous system. In addition, the number of specialized nervous system cells, namely neurons and glia, that live in a person's gut is roughly equivalent to the number found in a cat's brain. This research raises new and exciting possibilities for treating gut health issues!
